Making Spaghetti Squash
Lets get the simple questions out the way...
Why make spaghetti squash? Because its healthy for you, duh!
Is it really an alternative to pasta? Depends on your expectations. Yes, it kind of looks like pasta, but no, it doesn't taste like pasta. It taste like SQUASH. It does have a slight texture like pasta. but, really, the health benefits are the main reason to try it out.
Still here? Good! Lets go over a super simple way of preparing and making Spaghetti Squash.
Step 1:
Get a spaghetti squash. Its a necessary step. Trust me! And pre- heat oven to 375 degrees
Step 2:
Rinse off squash, and cut both ends off.
Step 3:
Cut squash, long ways, down the middle
Step 4:
Scoop the seeds out of the middle
Step 5:
Spread and rub a little olive oil on the inside of the squash
Step 6:
Season the inside. I use Mrs Dash Table Blend, and pepper. That's it.
Step 7:
Place both halves of squash, cut side down, on a baking tray, and bake for 45-60 minutes, depending on size of squash
Step 8:
Take tray out, flip the squash over, and "fork" the inside.
Step 9:
Done! You can add sauce of meats/veggies, and eat it right from the squash. Or you can toss it in bowls, and serve it that way.
